Did you know that 1 in 6 Americans currently lives in a household that is struggling to put food on the table? Working to eliminate hunger and poverty is a Jewish value; it is a responsibiliy for us to influence those around us to address hunger.
This month marks our fourth annual Hunger Seder mobilization, a partnership between the Jewish Council for Public Affairs (JCPA) and MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger. In over 40 communities, Hunger Seders will educate and empower members of the Jewish community, inter-faith partners, anti-hunger leaders, and elected officials to take action to protect and strengthen anti-hunger and nutrition programs.
Hunger Seders happening all across the country will celebrate our successes and continue moving forward in the path to overcome hunger. The JCPA and MAZON created helpful resources including a Haggdah, Seder planning guide, and a supplemental reading to plan a meaningful Hunger Seder.
Together we have the power to be a part of healing our fractured world and to end hunger in the United States. During this Passover season, let us remember – "Let all who are hungry come and eat."
