This September, the United Nations General Assembly may hold a vote on whether or not to endorse a unilaterally declared Palestinian state. In an effort to respond to the potential implications of such a situation, the Israel Action Network (IAN), together with the Jewish Community Relations Council of New York (JCRC-NY), launched an online petition as part of a major grassroots campaign to reject UDI and promote bilateral negotiations. The first week alone garnered over 10,000 signatures from individuals and key organizations across America who signed on to oppose UDI. If you haven’t done so already, please take action and join IAN and JCRC-NY by signing and circulating this petition with your communities, various coalitions and families and friends through email, Facebook and Twitter (be sure to use the hashtag #Sign4Peace on Twitter). We also invite you to have your agency co-sponsor the petition by contacting IAN directly. The signed petition will then be presented to the U.N. in September as part of a wide-reaching continental press strategy.
