Rabbi Douglas Kahn is Executive Director of the San Francisco-based Jewish Community Relations Council. Among his activities, he has served as co-chairman of the Intergroup Clearinghouse, San Francisco’s major organization addressing issues of intergroup tensions and hate violence. He serves on the board of an international interfaith organization based in San Francisco called United Religions Initiative. Prior to joining the JCRC staff in 1982, Rabbi Kahn served as Executive Director of the B’nai B’rith Hillel Foundation at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He received his rabbinic ordination from Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion in New York and his B.A. from the University of California at Berkeley. He has published numerous articles on community relations issues.
