JCPA Now Accepting Applications for Frank Fellow Future Leaders Fellowship Program 2017-18 - The Frank Family Leadership Institute: Engaging Future Leaders educates a select a talented group of young leaders from around the country for a one year fellowship experience with JCPA. This is a unique mentoring opportunity for emerging leaders who want to be active in the areas of public policy, public affairs, and intergroup/interfaith relations at both the local and national levels. The fellowship includes a mission to Poland and Israel as well as education and training in the community relations field.
Transition at JCPA's Washington Office - At the end of May, Krissy Roth will be leaving JCPA to pursue new endeavors. We wish her well and thank her for her service. JCPA's Washington office will remain open at its current location and be staffed part-time. JCPA continues to prioritize its legislative work in Washington. ACTION ALERT: Support a Fair Budget - On May 23, 2017. President Trump released his budget request outlining his priorities for the federal government’s FY2018 spending. Join JCPA’s national advocacy work by signing this letter, circulated our national partner the Coalition on Human Needs, to demonstrate that we are united against budget cuts and for investing in people and protecting the planet. The deadline is June 12.
ACTION ALERT: JFNA Opposes Latest Proposed Budget Cuts - Join JFNA in urging Congress to reject the proposed budget cuts. The Administration’s $4.094 trillion budget proposal for FY 2018 would eliminate or significantly curtail many critical programs entirely as part of a plan to cut federal spending by $3.6 trillion over 10 years. Much of the impact affects the poorest individuals in the United States.
Highlights from Making April “Second Chance Month”- JCPA partnered with the Prison Fellowship and 50 other organizations, including the ACLU and NAACP, to promote a campaign to make April “Second Chance Month” to raise awareness about the obstacles facing the 1 in 4 Americans adults who have a criminal record. Join us in helping to move criminal justice reform forward! As a result of our collective efforts, the U.S. Senate unanimously passed a resolution declaring April 2017 “Second Chance Month.” Click here to read more highlights from the campaign.
