We encourage participants from all JCPA Poverty Clusters to join us for this call.

This Hunger Cluster conference call will feature Joel Berg, Executive Director of the New York City Coalition Against Hunger. Joel is a nationally recognized leader in the fields of hunger and food security, national and community service, and technical assistance provision to faith-based and community organizations. He was also the USDA Coordinator of Community Food Security during the Clinton administration.

Joel will be speaking about the need for continued focus on anti-hunger programs, especially in light of the current budget crises, and his new, innovative Anti-Hunger Empowerment Corps, which places AmeriCorps VISTA volunteers with community organizations across the country to help people access feeding programs and other anti-hunger initiatives.

During this Hunger Cluster call, the JCPA will also announce a new, exciting program in partnership with MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger. A legislative update will also be provided.
